Eve Cantor
Eve Cantor
Shop Your Closet
Founder

A self-described “shopaholic,” Eve Cantor started her company — which helps women rediscover or maximize their fashion choices from their existing outfits — as she mourned the death of her father. Eve said she wanted to honor her dad by abstaining from dancing, playing music or shopping for one year. Because of that, Eve was forced to find a new look through clothing she already owned. “I love to shop and I couldn’t shop for a year,” she said. “I had to shop my own closet and work with pieces I had.”

Eve, a former personal shopper for Barneys New York and fashion boutique owner in Chicago, takes her discerning eye to her clients’ closets. Over three hours, she will pull out those shirts or dresses long buried in the back of the closet and find new ways to coordinate them for a new outfit. If an item needs to be adjusted, Eve will bring it to her seamstress.

MO: Can you talk about how an exercise of mourning and reflection led you on an entrepreneurial journey?

Entrepreneur Nicole Keesler
Nicole Keesler
Creative Elegance Weddings
Owner

Nicole Keesler received her master degree in elementary education and after struggling to get a job, she decided it was time to change careers. Having spent a majority of her time watching wedding shows and loving everything wedding, she went back to school and got her certification in Wedding and Event Planning from the Sheffield School.

Nicole saw a need in her area to have a place where couples could go to get the tools they need to plan their wedding and someone to assist in bringing their vision to life. She combined that with a place for the bride to find the right dress and accessories without having to compromise because of the price point. She’s been a consignment store shopper for years and knows that you can find great new and once worn clothing at a fraction of the original price.

Creative Elegance Weddings offers Wedding Planning, new and once worn bridal gowns and accessories, invitations and tuxedo rentals.

Ben Wolff
Ben Wolff
FasterPants
Founder & CEO

Ben Wolff didn’t set out to run a software company. He’s actually a Wardrobe Stylist in NYC who primarily dresses men and women business executives through his first company Re-Dress (Re-Dress.com). It was from trying to figure out how to grow Re-Dress that he came up with the idea for a better way to put outfits together and FasterPants (FasterPants.com) was born.

FasterPants is an enterprise software company in the Fashion/Tech/e-Commerce space and solves two big problems that online men’s clothing retailers face: Reducing inventory and Increasing UPT’s (units per transaction). This is done with a consumer facing engine that algorithmically sorts men’s clothing into 3 and 4 piece perfectly matched outfits ready for purchase creating the ideal environment for cross-selling and up-selling.

MO: Can you talk about how your idea for improving your first company, Re-Dress turned into an entirely new business venture?
