We all have the opportunity to transform our business from ordinary to extraordinary. At first glance, the difference in these two words seems merely to be the word “extra.” Yet, offering extra products and services in our business does not necessarily make us extraordinary, as more is not always better.

Some common definitions of “extraordinary” speak of going beyond the ordinary and achieving the very unusual that is deserving of attention as it is wonderful or excellent. At Integrity Communications, we believe that being extraordinary starts with a true desire and willingness to be, think, operate, and give in extraordinary ways. It’s a matter of creating that goal.

And then, lo and behold, extraordinary people and opportunities begin to come our way.

Thus, here are thoughts to start you along on your path. Hello extraordinary!

Evaluate your company mission and philosophies. Do you have a company mission and overarching philosophies and principles that guide you forward and direct your steps, decisions, and processes? We don’t mean something you create just to have on your website or in your marketing materials.

Consider your life’s mission and philosophies, and how your business can be an extension and reflection of your life goals. This can be very powerful for you and your company and help you to create an extraordinary energy, intent, and purpose around your company.

At Integrity Communications, we desire to serve, help, create, and guide our clients towards achieving success, in whatever forms they envision it. We combine strategy, intuition, and creativity, which we believe all are essential in effective marketing…and in life itself. Thus, when we speak to our prospects and clients, they know clearly our mission, our heart to serve, and the ways that we do so successfully.

Try your hand at developing a company mission and philosophies that start with you and your values. This will guide forward your company and also help people to connect with you, which is valuable in starting to build a relationship of trust.

Are you relationship-driven? Assess how your company treats your prospects and your clients, members, colleagues, and vendors. If your company is solely immersed in developing products/services and in marketing and selling “at” people, you are missing valuable opportunities to connect with, and develop strong, trusting relationships. After all, the quality and depth of your relationships contribute to how extraordinary is your company and the degree that you can acquire that success that you envision.

Thus, look at your company’s live interactions, email communications, marketing and public relations initiatives, and any other informal and formal communications from your company and your management and staff. Are they reflective of your mission, philosophies, and goals? Are they positive, other-focused, helpful, patient, kind? If not, now is the time to make some important tweaks to move forward towards extraordinary.

What is the quality of your products/services? On a basic level, your competitors may provide similar products and services as your company. Your target audiences frankly may not know how you differentiate. So, begin to consider how you stand apart and in what additional ways that you can differentiate and become extraordinary in the products and services that you offer.

Begin to evaluate how to enhance the quality of your products and services. Strategize products/services that provide additional value to your clients. Share generously your expertise with clients. Create deeper connections and trust in your business relationships. Meet or exceed client’s timing expectations. Ensure that your offerings are in keeping with what your clients are willing to pay and consider of value.

Transforming your company from ordinary to extraordinary is not only achievable, it is an exciting and fulfilling goal to set for your company. The process will strengthen your company, products, services, relationships, and contribute to your success. Get ready to become extraordinary!
